Promoting Fertility
3 Month programDuring this time, it is best to make a conscious effort not to conceive. Your body is taking time to restore and rejuvenate itself in preparation for conception.
Part one-
Treatments and hands on care:
1. Receive Maya Abdominal Massage (MAM) sessions from your practitioner within the week post menses and pre-ovulation and pre-menses. Between 7 and 10 days depending on ovulation.
2. Chart your cycles- refer to Taking charge of Your Fertiltiy by Toni Wescher, and/or The Garden of Fertility by Katie Singer. Life Source Acupuncture will mail you a chart if you do not have one.
3. Self-care massage daily that you will learn from your MAM practitioner. Perform only if not pregnant.
4. Acupuncture at the time of MAM, or weekly if possible.
5. Castor oil packs, one to three times per week depending on degree of congestion in pelvis. Apply heating pad on the low setting over uterus or sacrum during pre-ovulation.
6. Happy Uterus Detoxifying Herbal Clay packs one to three times per week, use with heat on low setting over uterus during pre-ovulation.
7. Herbal Steam right before menses if not pregnant. Can be combined with using the Detoxifying Herbal Clay.
8. Sleep in the dark all month except the 3 days of ovulation. During the 3 days, add a small night light or moon light to wake up the pineal gland.
Part two-
Herbal and dietary support:
1. Female tonic (herbal tincture or tea) 10 days pre menses. 1 dropper full 3 times daily. Please confirm that you are not pregnant or before taking. Inform your MAM practitioner of any other herbals or medications you are taking.
2. Vitex in tablet or tincture form, 2x daily all month for 3 months to regulate ovulation
3. Post-menses, build blood with Nettles and/or Red Clover infusion.
4. Increase consumption of healthy fats (real butter, olive oil, ghee, ground flax seed, etc.).
5. Address any underlying issues related to immune function, candida or fungal infections. Consult with your practitioner to address these issues before conceiving.
6. Decrease xenoestrogens and processed foods. Try to eat only organic foods and meats. Increase your intake of fruites, vegetables, whole grains and pure water.
Part three-
Energy and Emotion:
1. Clarify what your intentions are for these 3 months (i.e., shrink fibroids, eliminate ovarian cysts, become more fertile, etc.). Try to keep it simple by having only up to three objectives.
2. Examine the energetic function and emotional association with your pattern (see happyuterus.blogspot.com for more info. about this). Allow yourself these 3 months to unravel this pattern and make peace with yourself. Change.
3. Use the tools that have been known to decrease stress such as exercise, massage, meditation, orgasm and visualization.
4. Listen to the Uterine Meditation CD whenever you can while doing the castor oil or Detox herbal clay packs, healing baths and/or vagi-steaming.
5. Increase your sexual joy by having regular orgasms to raise your energy and invigorate your pelvis. Some studies have shown that chances of conception are increased with female orgasm within 40 minutes of male ejaculation. Try to have fun with this.
One- month program
Although it is best to try to avoid conception while doing this work, it is not realistic if you are already actively engaged in other fertility treatments. This one-month program was developed if you are already doing fertility treatments.
